CAPC Career Seminar - Once again CAPC addresses every undergraduates' nightmare: What to do after graduation. Professionals from various government and politics fields who are University of Maryland alumni will tackle this question. Notable guests include: Ken LaSala, Director of Government Affairs, International Association of Fire Chiefs; Nidhi Thakar, Associate in environmental law at Perkins Coie LLP; Delegate Justin Ross, Member of the Maryland House of Delegates; and Susan Turnbull, Chair of the Maryland Democratic Party.

Internship and Part-Time Job Fair 2009 - If you want to work in government and politics after graduating, an internship with the Maryland state government is a great way to gain experience, build a professional network, and get your foot in the door. CAPC will be advertising the new Maryland Internship Program and recruiting potential participants for the spring 2010 semester.

Prospects of Peace in the Middle East - Can there ever be peace in this region of the world? What are the environmental factors that must occur to make this happen? These questions will be answered by professors from the Government and Politics department, Dr. Shibley Telhami and Dr. Jillian Schwedler, along with PhD Candidate Guy Ziv. Panelists will discuss the identity of the Middle East as a whole, foreign relations with the U.S., the current political scene in Israel and Jordan, peace talks between the Middle East nations, and Islamist social and political movements.
